For a long time, I thought motivation was the missing piece. I assumed that if I could just feel more motivated, more inspired, more “ready,” everything would fall into place.

But after 40, motivation stopped showing up the way it used to.
Some days it was there.
Most days it wasn’t.

And waiting for it started to feel like a losing game.

How I Was Relying on Motivation
